Tir Sir Gâr

Tir Sir Gâr

Fore dydd Sadwrn y 9fed o Fawrth 2013 roedd golygfa ryfeddol i’w gweld yn Llanpumsaint wrth i griw o bobl o bob oedran gerdded drwy’r pentref mewn dillad o gyfnod y 1940au! Ffilmio ar gyfer cynhyrchiad newydd y Theatr Genedlaethol sef Tir Sir Gâr oedd y Côr. Roedd y cynhyrchiad yn dilyn hanes teulu o ffermwyr yng ngorllewin Cymru gan ymdrin â’r heriau a’r anawsterau sy’n wynebu cefn gwlad heddiw. Cafodd y cynhyrchiad gryn sylw ac adolygiadau cadarnhaol yn y wasg a’r cyfryngau. Yn ogystal â chanu mewn cyfanswm o 12 o berfformiadau byw yn Amgueddfa Abergwili rhwng 15 a 27 Ebrill 2013, bu aelodau’r Côr yn cymryd rhan mewn ffilm a oedd yn cael ei dangos fel rhan o’r cynhyrchiad. Fel y gwelwch o’r lluniau cawsom lawer o hwyl! Roedd canu yng nghapel yr Amgueddfa ar ddiwedd pob un o’r perfformiadau dros gyfnod o bythefnos hefyd yn brofiad arbennig.

Anyone who happened to pass through Llanpumsaint on the morning of Saturday 9th March 2013 would have been greeted with an amazing sight as people of all ages walked through the village wearing vintage 1940’s style attire! In fact the Choir was filming for Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru’s new production, Tir Sir Gâr. The production followed the story of a farming family in West Wales and dealt with the challenges and difficulties that face rural life today. The production drew considerable media and press coverage and received positive reviews. In addition to singing in a total of 12 live performances in Abergwili Museum between 15th and 27th April 2013, the Choir took part in a film which was shown in the production. As can be seen from the pictures we had some great fun! Singing in the Museum Chapel at the end of each one of the performances held over a fortnight was also a wonderful experience.
